SUBJECT: Teacher: Evening High and Credit Recovery ProgramREPORTS TO: Administrator/Program LeadThe Evening High School is designed to serve students interested in obtaining a high school diploma; but due to life circumstances are unable to attend school during the day and need a pathway at night. The timeframe enables students to hold a job meet family obligations and upon meeting the requirements graduate from high school. Looking for individuals to provide effective and quality education for students participating in programs at the Evening High School. The program also offers credit recovery for over-age/under-credited high school students. Students will earn high school credits through participation in the academic program and may receive additional credit through work-based learning plans based on internships and/or work experience during the day. The Evening High School will provide services for students from the seven city high schools. This model will consist of 6 teachers each teaching a module of one of the core content areas Mathematics English Social Studies and Science. We will use the computer assisted learning systems to assist instruction eg. PLATO. Actual sessions will be 3 hours in length to allow movement between classes and a break. The RETURNEE Program is designed to re-engage and support WPS dropouts to accelerate their pathway to graduation through the use of computer based credit completion software. Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs and alternative needs4 .Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition5.
