The Gift Processing Specialists report to the Development Data Operations Manager and are part of the Wisconsin Public Radio and PBS Wisconsin Membership team.
The Gift Processing Specialists contribute to Wisconsin Public Radios and PBS Wisconsins fundraising successes by processing and recording donations in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with established department policies updating member records and pledges in our database carrying out data hygiene tasks of basic to moderate complexity serving as a resource to Development colleagues regarding established business rules related to gift entry and account data hygiene and providing audience and member support by answering questions over the phone and via email during designated shifts.
These positions require strong attention to detail and organization aptitude for understanding data relationships ability to learn and oversee established system-based procedures and intricate business rules and commitment to positive communication with colleagues donors and audience members. The Gift Processing Specialists must be able to work effectively both with a team to accomplish shared goals and independently to complete tasks and projects with minimal direct oversight.
This position is Ongoing/Renewable.
These are full-time 40 hour a week positions. These positions typically work Monday-Friday and must be available for active phone hours which are 9am-4:30pm CT. Gift Processing Specialists have some flexibility to set their regular work day schedule around this window as long as phone support needs are met.
The Gift Processing Specialists must be open to the possibility of working overtime hours during on-air fundraising drives held 5-6 weeks per year including scheduled evening and weekend shifts. These evening and weekend shifts are scheduled based on staff availability and can be worked remotely.
These positions have the option of being hybrid in accordance with the UW-Madison policy for remote work and the terms of their approved Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA). An FWA requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on a university provided computer. Per University policy transportation between home and assigned work location is not payable/reimbursable and will be at the expense of the employee. Following a successful probationary period these positions may be hybrid with an expectation of 2-4 days per week in-person in Madison WI. Please expect to be on-site in Vilas Hall anywhere from 4-5 days a week for the first four weeks of employment for training purposes. The final schedule can be discussed in the offer stage but fully remote candidates will not be accepted.
These positions require the physical ability to sit or stand at a desk and use a computer keyboard and mouse for several hours at a time.

PBS Wisconsin and Wisconsin Public Radio are part of Wisconsin Public Media. The person in this position will be required to comply with the Wisconsin Public Media Code of Ethics: in addition to the UW-Madison code of ethics.
The Wisconsin Public Radio and PBS Wisconsin Member Services Department is responsible for donor customer service donation management donor account maintenance and fundraising through on-air member drives mailing campaigns email and online campaigns door-to-door canvassing and telemarketing. The department plays a vital relationship-building role as its often the only point of contact some members will have with WPR and PBS Wisconsin. The department plays an integral role towards our financial sustainability processing financial donations from various sources in a secure and accurate manner while advancing communication plans that ensure revenue retention and growth.
Since this position is full-time (40 hours per week) and in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) the pay will convert to an hourly wage with an expected pay range of $24.04 to $25.48 per hour. The annualized rate of pay expected will be between $50000 and $53000. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
Experience in financial processing customer service telemarketing or another related field. Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) type databases with a strong ability to interpret donor data and communicate insights effectively to fundraising and stewardship teams. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to oversee detailed instructional documents and job aides. Accurate and efficient data entry skills. Established work history in one-on-one customer or donor relationship building. Ability to be self-directed and meet deadlines independently. Experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor financial stewardship Strong attention to detail in a role that included working with complex database procedures and significant data entry/manipulation A work history that involved running queries using tools such as SQL Familiarity with safe data practices related to sensitive and confidential information (such as home addresses banking information etc.) High School Diploma is preferred.
