Job Description
The school is recruiting a Design & Technology Teacher for a full-time Maternity Cover position at a prestigious Independent School in East Sussex commencing in January 2026. This role involves teaching a broad curriculum across Key Stages 3 to 5 including specialist areas like Product Design and Graphics.
The school seeks an innovative practitioner to maintain its tradition of technical excellence and creative problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver challenging hands-on Design & Technology lessons up to A-Level standard.
- Maintain the high standard of specialist workshops and machinery ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Develop students creative design processes technical analyse and practical manufacturing proficiency.
- Track and evaluate student progress diligently preparing students for highly competitive design and engineering courses.
- Organise and run co-curricular clubs such as engineering or model-making groups.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant degree in Design Technology Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching D&T to A-Level ideally with proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
- Excellent technical proficiency across multiple workshop disciplines.
- Strong classroom management and effective organisational skills.
- A commitment to promoting technical skills and innovation within the faculty.
