Job Description

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hammersmith is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join their Key Stage 2 team from January 2026. This is a fantastic full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced practitioner or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) ready to take the next step in their teaching career.

Salary: MPS/UPS (Inner London dependent on experience)

    Role Responsibilities

    - Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to a Year 5 class in line with the National Curriculum.

    - Support pupils academic progress while also developing their social emotional and personal skills.

    - Foster a positive respectful classroom culture where all pupils feel safe and valued.

    - Assess track and monitor pupil achievement to ensure strong progress is made.

    - Work collaboratively with colleagues across KS2 to plan share resources and drive school improvement.

    - Maintain effective communication with parents and carers to support pupil outcomes.

    - Contribute to the wider life of the school through CPD team meetings and enrichment activities.

      Candidate Requirements

      - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.

      - Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum ideally with experience in Year 5.

      - Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and inspire learners.

      - A reflective organised and motivated approach to teaching.

      - Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

      - Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
