Data Manager - Hackney North London
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Data Manager to join a progressive secondary school in Hackney. This is a crucial role for an individual who is passionate about using data to inform school improvement and drive student outcomes. The school is looking for a professional who can ensure data integrity and provide insightful analysis to the leadership team.
The Role
As the Data Manager you will be the central point for all school data overseeing its collection analysis and reporting. You will be responsible for the accuracy and security of all student information ensuring it is used effectively to support teaching and learning. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing the schools Management Information System (MIS) which is the core database for all student information.
- Generating and analyzing a variety of data reports including those on student attendance behaviour academic progress and attainment.
- Leading on the production of statutory returns such as the School Census and ensuring all data is compliant with GDPR regulations.
- Providing training and support to staff on the effective use of data systems and reports.
- Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and other departments to provide strategic data analysis that informs school improvement planning.
A strong working knowledge of common school MIS software such as SIMS Arbor or Bromcom is highly desirable. Experience with reporting and analysis tools like SISRA or Power BI would also be a significant advantage.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Proven experience in a data management role preferably within an educational setting.
- Expertise in using and managing a schools Management Information System (MIS).
- A high level of proficiency in data analysis and reporting with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
- A strong understanding of data protection principles and statutory reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex data to a variety of audiences.
Salary & Application
The salary for this position is competitive and will be based on the schools support staff pay scale (Inner London) commensurate with your experience and qualifications. Typical salaries for this type of role in London range from 35000 to 42000 per annum depending on experience.
