Job Summary
An ambitious and well-regarded secondary school in Portsmouth is seeking an inspirational Music Teacher to join their team full-time from January 2026. This permanent role is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about performance composition and developing a love of music in young people. The successful candidate will also play a key role in the schools vibrant extracurricular music programme.

Full-time permanent Music Teacher role starting January 2026
Well-established secondary school with a thriving Arts provision
Teach across KS3KS5 preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Opportunities to direct ensembles choirs and orchestras and contribute to school concerts and events
Experience and Qualifications
Qualified Music Teacher with QTS (PGCE or equivalent)
Strong subject knowledge across performance theory and composition
Proficiency in at least one instrument and ability to lead ensembles
Knowledge of music technology and composition software desirable
Strong behaviour management with the ability to inspire students of all abilities
Enthusiastic collaborative team player with excellent organisational and communication skills
Legal right to work in the UK
