The function of Telemarketing Agent entails the following:
2.1.1. cold calling techniques on prospects
2.1.2. persuading potential customers to purchase a product or service
2.1.3. obtaining referrals and leads from a variety of sources from lead generation activities
2.1.4. contributing to departments function of collecting data and converting
them into qualified leads then conduct sales calls.
2. DUTIES ACTUALLY PERFORMED BY THIS POSITION:
Serves customers by selling products via telephone.
Contact individuals by telephone in order to solicit sales for goods or services.
Recommends changes in products service and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems developing
solutions preparing reports and making recommendations to management.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops reviewing professional publications establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
Conduct client or market surveys and type detailed notes regarding sale or service offered.
Deliver prepared sales talks reading from scripts that describe products or services to persuade potential customers to purchase a product or service.
Explain products or services and prices and answer questions from customers.
Maintain records of contacts accounts and orders in the companys system only.
Obtain customer information such as name address and payment method and enter orders into computers.
Obtain names and telephone numbers of potential customers from sources such as
referrals cold calling and any other legal means.
Assist and support the line manager by taking tasks assign by them when necessary.
3. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION REQUIRED (EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS)
Minimum of high school certification
Diploma and some form of work experience is preferred
Strong communication skills
Good selling skills
Positive energy and teamwork ethos
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Good understanding of the services
Be highly computer literate particularly in Microsoft Office Products.
Ability to persuade others to change their minds or behavior.
Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying and to actively look for ways to help people.
4. KPIs
To achieve the daily and monthly sales KPIs as set by the management.
Monthly sales results must be within targets set by management in terms of premium and commission income and this is subject to review minimum of once annually.
5. Commission or incentives
Commissions or incentives to be agreed.
Important notes: Commission is only payable if all KPI are achieved.
6. Typical Working Conditions
Normal Working Hours 40 hours a week
Working Timing may include rotating shift.
Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
