First time travelers accepted with CVPICU experience Position Details: Diagnosis: Bedside procedures including central line placement arterial line placement lumbar puncture intubations/extubations CRRT initiation/discontinuation ECMO cannulations/decannulations chest exploration and any other emergent operative procedures for a patient who is too unable to transport to the OR. Equipment: Hamilton G5 Ventilators DirectLink ICP Monitors Artic Sun Targeted Temperature Management Baxer Prismaflex Machines Hospital Highlights (OHSU Doernbecher Campus) Type of Facility: Magnet Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Surgery Site Teaching Hospital Total Staffed Beds: 80 Scrub Color: No Prints Scrubs provided for OR Charting: EPIC Parking Cost: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm The 8N Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (8N PICU) at Doernbecher Childrens Hospital is a 20 bed unit specially equipped to provide care to critically ill or injured pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood in a family-centered atmosphere. The PICU team cares for children across a vast spectrum of health issues including trauma surgery respiratory cardiac hematology/oncology and neurologic disorders. Our pediatric intensive care nurses are specially trained to provide state of the art care to infants children and adolescent patients who require the highest level of medical or post surgical nursing care. Board certified pediatric intensivists staff the PICU 24 hours a day seven days a week. They collaborate with many medical and surgical services to provide comprehensive care to critically ill children. The PICU intensivists also direct the transport of critically ill children to our unit from other hospitals in Oregon Washington and the surrounding states. The PICU team also includes other personnel who have been specially trained to care for critically ill children and their families including: respiratory therapists nutritionists pharmacologists speech therapists physical therapists occupational therapists social workers child life specialists hospital aides and health unit coordinators.
