Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Install configure and maintain SQL Server databases across multiple versions (2008 through 2019).
- Perform database upgrades patches migrations and version upgrades (with focus on SQL Server 2016 & 2017).
- Monitor database performance troubleshoot issues and optimize queries and indexes for efficiency.
- Manage database security backup and recovery and disaster recovery planning.
- Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions (AlwaysOn clustering log shipping replication).
- Collaborate with developers and application teams to support SQL development deployments and data integrations.
- Maintain database documentation standards and procedures.
- Provide on-call production support as needed.
Must-Have Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
- Extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server 2008/2008 R2/2012/2014/2016/2017/2019.
- At least 3 years of experience specifically with SQL Server 2016 & 2017.
- Strong expertise in performance tuning query optimization and index strategies.
- Experience with backup/recovery clustering AlwaysOn and replication.
- Proficiency in T-SQL stored procedures and database design.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in enterprise-level environments with large complex databases.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation.
- Knowledge of Azure SQL or cloud database technologies is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.
