Job Summary
Certified Surgical Technologist CVOR (Variable Shift)
Location: Salem VA 24153
Shift: Variable 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM; 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Job Type: Permanent Full-Time
Guaranteed Hours: (40 hours/week)
Compensation: (Negotiable based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill to register and pre-register Obstetric patients and manage patient information.
- Proficient use of computer systems for documentation and patient tracking.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with both internal staff and external parties.
- Maintain cleanliness and integrity of the physical environment and surgical equipment.
- Scrub in on C-section procedures and manage surgical instrumentation.
- Perform infant testing and related tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Actively seek out opportunities for professional and personal development.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Physical ability to perform duties involving standing bending reaching lifting (up to 50 lbs) etc.
- Education:
- Successful completion of a Surgical Tech program (or grandfathered status as per Virginia state regulations).
- Licensure:
- Surgical Technician license Must be registered with the State of Virginia.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 90 days of employment.
- Experience:
- Previous surgical tech experience preferred.
- 1-2 years of hospital or scrub experience preferred.
