DLP Platform Migration Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a DLP Platform Migration Specialist to support the transition of our Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to a new technology. This role will focus on ensuring that all DLP policies configurations and enforcement measures are accurately migrated optimized and maintained. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in DLP policy management a deep understanding of data security protocols and a proven track record of handling complex DLP platform migrations.
Key Responsibilities:
DLP Policy Migration:
Support the migration of DLP policies from the existing platform to the new platform.
Ensure that all DLP policies including data identification classification and monitoring are accurately mapped and transferred to the new platform.
Review and validate current DLP policies and recommend necessary improvements to optimize detection and protection.
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data protection requirements and adapt DLP policies to meet those needs.
DLP Policy Optimization:
Evaluate and refine existing DLP policies to ensure they are properly configured for the new platform and aligned with organizational goals.
Develop and test new DLP policy templates for enhanced security and
Fine-tune and optimize existing policies to minimize false positives and maximize the accuracy of DLP alerts.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with DLP engineers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of DLP policies into the new platform.
Provide guidance and support to teams on DLP policy enforcement data classification and monitoring post-migration.
Work with appropriate incident response teams to monitor the effectiveness of DLP policies after migration.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure that all DLP policies comply with relevant data protection laws industry regulations and organizational standards.
Create detailed reports on the DLP migration process policy configurations testing results and any changes made during the migration.
Training and Documentation:
Develop comprehensive documentation for all DLP policies including configurations rules and migration steps.
Conduct training sessions for security teams and stakeholders on managing and fine-tuning DLP policies in the new platform.
Testing and Validation:
Perform thorough testing and validation of all DLP policies post-migration to ensure proper enforcement accuracy and detection.
Address any issues or challenges related to DLP policy execution or migration gaps.
Qualifications:
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in DLP policy management and implementation.
Proven experience with DLP platform migration or similar large-scale IT security migrations.
Familiarity with managing DLP platforms (e.g. Symantec McAfee Digital Guardian Forcepoint etc.) and cloud-based DLP solutions.
Strong understanding of data security and data protection best practices.
Skills:
Ability to troubleshoot and optimize LP policies to minimize disruptions
Hands-on experience with DLP policy creation modification and migration while ensuring maximum data protection.
Strong analytical skills to interpret data detect security risks and optimize security policies.
Proficiency in scripting or automation tools for DLP policy management (e.g. PowerShell Python).
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud-based DLP solutions and integrations (e.g. Microsoft 365
AWS Google Workspace).
Knowledge of advanced data loss prevention techniques like content inspection behavioural analysis and machine learning-based detection.
