We are looking for a video technologist to strengthen live video operations for the central Video Technology Group You should be passionate about large scale video ecosystems and care about the delivery of best in class consumer experience for live events and streams Does this sound like you
As the Live video Engineer at VTG you will be part of a small team and will be responsible for supporting end-to-end live video infrastructure covering both on-premises and cloud based solutions ensuring seamless signal acquisition transcoding packaging encryption server side ad insertion SSAI monetization and content delivery Additionally you will implement observability practices to enhance system reliability and performance evaluate vendors to ensure optimal partnerships and drive cost optimization initiatives

Your Day today
Operations Support
Monitor the day-to-day operations of live video infrastructure ensuring high availability and performance
Troubleshoot live streaming issues coordinating with technical teams to resolve problems quickly
Own the setup monitoring and real time triage for big tentpole events o Available for live events including evenings weekends and holidays

Infrastructure Management
Manage and optimize both on-premises and cloud infrastructure for live video processing
Monitor signal acquisition transcoding packaging encryption SSAI monetization and content delivery workflows

Observability
Implement and enhance observability practices including monitoring logging and ing to ensure system reliability and performance
Analyze metrics and incidents to continuously improve live video infrastructure and user experience

Cost Optimization
Identify and implement cost saving initiatives across live video media infrastructure
Analyze operational costs and resource utilization to optimize spending while maintaining high-quality service delivery

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering or a related field
3 years of experience in live video technology with a focus on D2C or OTT services
Proven track record of managing complex video workflows from acquisition to delivery
In-depth knowledge of video codecs AVC HEVC contribution protocols SDI SMPTE 2110 RTMP RTP ZIXI RIST SRT delivery protocols HLS DASH CMAF video containers TS MP4 and cloud services AWS OCI GCP etc.
Experience with server side ad insertion SSAI video encryption methods Widevine PlayReady FairPlay and CPIX
Strong data analytics skills to analyze logs and create observability dashboards in platforms such as new relic Cloud ELK
Can read Python Rust and do basic scripting
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced dynamic environment
Familiarity with Atlaasian Jira and Confluence products

Additional Qualifications
Familiarity working with GitHub projects is a plus
Understanding of AWS Media service offerings
Strong technical acumen fundamental knowledge of distributed deployment technologies Docker Terraform Kubernetes
Familiarity with color spaces HDRSDR captioning standards 608708VTTTTML SCTE35 signaling for dynamic ad insertion DAI and SCTE224 SCTE250 signaling for ESAM POIS
