Job Description

We are actively recruiting for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to serve in a full-time role in the Dorchester South Carolina area for the school year. All applicants must be a licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired in the state of South Carolina and hold or be eligible to obtain an SC Educator Certificate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support for students who are blind or visually impaired
  • Collaborate with general and special education teachers administrators and parents to support student learning and independence
  • Adapt educational materials and teach the use of assistive technology
  • Support students in both academic and functional skill development
  • Write and implement IEPs track progress and maintain documentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education with certification in Visual Impairment
  • South Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification (or eligibility)
  • Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
