As a Systems Development engineer its up to you to define design and refine the tech that keeps us in lock step with our partners. Anticipate. Innovate. Bring challenging ideas and well support you with the latest tech tools and systems that you need to succeed. Youll drive the team forward guiding them over every obstacle and leading the way to develop exciting original and effective solutions. Leading the way youll bring our team together to build and maintain technologies used to ignite millions of screens worldwide with FireTV experience.
Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate has current and extensive experience developing and building Android systems and applications. The candidate understands what the limitations of the platform are and can design and implement additional services or help optimize existing ones to meet the product requirements. The ideal candidate:
- Has in-depth expertise working with Android system
- Independently lead complex technical initiatives within your team
- Good understanding of Multimedia domain and associated technologies
- Profiency in Java Kotlin.
- Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity and deep technical understanding
- Explore technical needs and bring solutions to the table
- Work with other lead engineers to develop a unified technical strategy for Android
A day in the life
In a typical day you work closely with FireTV developers SoC vendors ODMs Hardware team and technical program managers to create new features optimizing related issues and deliver customer loving high quality smart TV products on time.
About the team
Smart TV Solution Engineering team is responsible for the delivery of integrated smartTV experiences at planet scale for our partner branded SmartTV business.
- Experience in automating deploying and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python Ruby Golang Java C C# Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
