Admission Counselor- Undergraduate

Position Summary

The Admission Counselor is focused on the external recruitment activity and relationships as well as the development and completion of an annual recruitment plan within ones assigned territory. The Admission Counselor will hold primary responsibility for engaging accepted undergraduate student inquiries and applicants to the point of tuition deposit.

Strong interpersonal engagement dynamic energy communication and collaboration are key strengths for success in this role. This full-time exempt position is integral for key success indicators within the traditional undergraduate enrollment process. This position will report directly to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. This position is part of the Student Enrollment and Engagement division within the Academics Office.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Interview and counsel prospective undergraduate students
• Communicate with admitted students about their financial aid process to secure enrollment
• Attend college fairs host information sessions and visit high schools in market areas
• Maintain relations with program directors faculty staff and others
• Assist in campus-based events to facilitate recruitment goals
• Positively represent CUW and its mission statement
• Develop an annual recruitment plan and work toward institutional goals
• May perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Experience and knowledge of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod
• Ideal candidate will have attended Lutheran secondary schooling and/or college
• Excellent communication skills - written and oral especially public speaking
• Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule
• Knowledge and skill in use of computer and software common to the academic setting especially a CRM
• Bachelors degree minimum; pursuit of Masters degree preferred
• Ability to work some weekends and evenings
• Overnight travel required
• Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Education and Experience

A Bachelors degree is required. Experience in sales marketing and/or customer service will also be considered valuable.
