Position: Full-Time School Secretary
Reports to: April Miner School Principal
Job Summary
Southwest Elementary part of Clinton Public Schools is seeking a welcoming organized and energetic School Secretary to join our dedicated team. As the first point of contact for our school you will be the face and voice of Southwest Elementary creating a positive and professional environment for students parents staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional multitasker who can manage the daily administrative operations of a busy school office with efficiency and a friendly attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Front Office Management: Greet and assist students parents and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Answer and direct all incoming phone calls.
Student Services: Manage student attendance records including tardies and absences. Handle new student enrollment transfers and withdrawals ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the principal and other school staff. This includes managing calendars scheduling appointments and preparing correspondence.
Record Keeping: Maintain confidential student records and staff files with precision and in accordance with school policies and regulations.
Office Operations: Order and maintain office supplies manage office equipment and ensure the front office area is organized and running smoothly.
Qualifications and Skills
Required: High school diploma or GED.
Preferred: Previous secretarial or administrative experience especially within a school setting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Suite. Experience with student information systems is a plus but training will be provided.
Interpersonal Skills: Must possess excellent communication customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact positively with children parents and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Organizational Skills: Strong ability to multitask prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Professionalism: A high degree of professionalism dependability and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
