DescriptionAs a Resident Activity and Hospitality Assistant (RAHA) you will support Charter House residents in a variety of departments working independently and alongside other RAHAs under the supervision of the Recreation Therapist. This is a highly flexible and variable role perfect for an adaptable individual. You will have an opportunity to positively impact the lives of our residents by your involvement in the following activities:
- Providing excellent customer service while establishing and maintaining a professional engaging and helpful relationship with residents families visitors and other Charter House personnel
- Ensuring the environment is safe and healthy for all who live and work in Charter House
- Transporting and escorting Charter House residents to a variety of appointment needs in a safe timely and efficient manner
- Personal shopping companion service
- Engaging residents in individual small or large group activities
- Assisting with resident family visits
- Light housekeeping
- Paperwork related to activity programming
*This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; Also Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
QualificationsTo be considered for the RAHA role you must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Qualifications
- One year of customer service experience and/or geriatrics experience preferred.
- Previous customer/client/resident interaction roles preferred.
- Previous Senior living community hospital or clinical experience is preferred.
- Requires effective communication strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.
- Works varied hours which may include days evenings days/evenings holidays and weekends with rotating days off.
- Requires good communication and human relation skills to interact with residents/clients family members and staff.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills are necessary.
