Introduction
The Ferri lab is a translational research lab within the RI-MUHC that focuses on studying upper GI cancer pathogenesis progression and response to therapy using patient-derived data and model systems within the larger context of the Thoracic Surgery and Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Research Laboratories ( As a highly funded group with extensive existing resources for both data and samples as well as multiple established model systems we are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Esophageal/ Gastric Cancer Research.
Responsabilities and Objectives
Design and perform studies analyze data
Experience in cell culture preferably with primary cells organoids and human tissues
Experience working with animals (not compulsory)
Experience working with biochemical and molecular assays.
Ability to troubleshoot in order to develop the project
Ability to work with clinicians and basic scientists
Ability to work flexible hours at short notice
Having strong expertise in flow cytometry and confocal microscopy will be considered an added advantage.
Supervise and train students
Assist with preparation of reports manuscripts and grant applications
Present work at internal local national and international meetings.
Bilingual spoken and written
Good analytical and logic skills
Ability to troubleshoot in order to develop the project
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision after appropriate training
Detail-oriented and able to multitask
Ability to troubleshoot procedures and protocols.
