Whats the role

An exciting opportunity is available for a Quality Engineering Lead Performance and Reliability to join the Technology Chief Transformation Office. The purpose of the role is to focus on shift-left performance engineering and resilience validation across critical banking journeys.

Drive performance and reliability engineering excellence across Westpacs retail banking technology ecosystem. Establish performance engineering practices define service level objectives (SLOs) and build chaos engineering capabilities.

What do I need

  • Expertise in performance engineering within large-scale environments.
  • Expert-level proficiency in performance testing tools including JMeter K6 Gatling.
  • Strong understanding of microservices performance patterns and distributed system reliability.
  • Extensive experience with APM tools including AppDynamics and Splunk.
  • Proven track record of defining and implementing SLOs SLIs and error budgets.
  • Strong analytical skills for performance bottleneck identification and optimization.
  • Leadership capabilities for driving performance culture and influencing architecture decisions.
  • Deep understanding of banking system requirements including transaction processing and compliance.
