Nursing Technician Palliative Care/Med Surg
Job Type: Full-time Variable 12-hour shifts and 2 Weekends per month with Holiday rotation
Up to $5000 Sign-on Bonus

The Palliative Care-Med-Surg unit consists of a nice mix of experienced and newer staff. We are known for our great teamwork and compassionate nurses. We self-schedule with the manager adjusting as needed to provide consistent coverage on the unit. We get many great comments from patients families and float staff that are on the unit. The manager strives to provide a nice family balance to provide a great place to work for the employees that work on the unit. We have all core staff no agency or contracted staff with help occasionally from the hospital float pool. We have a 1:5 or 1:6 ratio of nurse to patient. We have staff meeting party days every month and every other month out of work get togethers.
How youll contribute
A Nursing Assistant (NA) who excels in this role:
Participates in Patient Care Teams delivery of personalized efficient care with respect for patients spiritual and cultural differences.
Consider factors related to safety effectiveness and cost in delivery of patient care.
Orients patient and family to room and call bell.
Upon admission obtain initial vital signs height and weight.
Records daily I & O vital signs and food intake into the electronic medical record.
Transports patients via appropriate means in a safe dignified manner. Adheres to patient activity restrictions.
Establishes positive relationships with patients/families and reports patient/family concerns accurately and concisely to appropriate care team members.

What were looking for
Applicants should possess High School Diploma or GED. Additional requirements include:
Completion of Nurse Aide Program or experience in related field or will provide on the job education and training
Basic Life Support or acquire within 3 months of hire
One year of acute care or one-year long-term care experience preferred
Certification preferred
