Sr. Design Technician

Are you a seasoned design professional ready to lead innovate and make an impact Join our team as a Senior Design Technician where your advanced technical expertise and leadership will drive complex utility design projects and elevate team performance.

As a key contributor and team leader in our non-engineer technical support track youll:

• Lead utility design tasks including drafting engineering calculations easement validation and cost estimating

• Ensure all designs meet safety standards construction protocols and regulatory requirements

• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously delivering on time and exceeding expectations

• Collaborate across engineering operations and construction teams to align project goals

• Resolve GIS and CADD conflicts to maintain data accuracy and integrity

• Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders

• Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for technical challenges

• Provide strategic oversight and quality assurance for team deliverables

• Mentor junior technicians and support training initiatives

• Champion innovation and implement process improvements across projects

• Uphold safety and compliance in every aspect of your work

What Were Looking For:

• Appropriate Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three (3) years of experience in design permitting construction management project management urban planning civil engineering or a closely related field.
• Experience working with local jurisdictions and negotiating with agencies on permit requirements and conditions (preferred but not required).
• ComputerâAided Design/Drafting (CADD) and/or Geographic Information System (GIS) experience (or ability to quickly learn); experience creating simple permit sketches preferred.
• Functional understanding of Microsoft 365 and common ERP/CRM and scheduling tools preferred.
