Austin Industrial is currently seeking a HVAC Technician to join our staff located at Franklin VA. They must be able to perform installs repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: refrigeration air conditioning electric motors heating units heat pumps hermetic compressors commercial furnaces boilers burners intake and exhaust fans economizers humidifiers capacity controls semi-hermetic compressors split systems flame safeguard controls air compressors air driers and packaged units throughout the district. Other duties may be assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnose repair and install plant mechanical systems in pulp and paper manufacturing industry.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment like conveyors and presses
Read mechanical prints and diagrams (including HVAC systems)

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications:
- Experience 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Critical thinking; predictive and preventative maintenance finding root cause of failure.
- Work positively with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Excellent teamwork cooperation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work alone with a partner or as a member of a team maintaining safety quality & productivity.
- Engage in preventative maintenance processes through facility.
- Willingness to cross train and learn new skills in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
- Able to work with computer system for maintenance processes stores and work order
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Drivers License
- HVAC Certification required
- Meet physical demands as listed above
- Ability to work overtime weekends and holidays as needed by the assigned location
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
