The Manager of Slot Operations is responsible for leading the Slot department in achieving its operational goals and supporting the overall objectives of Caesars New Orleans. This role focuses on enhancing guest relations driving business development and maintaining a fun and engaging gaming environment. The manager provides leadership motivation training coaching and mentoring to all team members fostering a culture of trust respect and empowerment. By promoting high morale and encouraging collaboration the Manager of Slot Operations ensures a cohesive and high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee day-to-day Slot Operations ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of the casino floor.
- Establish and administer accurate procedures and policies for Slot department operations ensuring compliance with Louisiana gaming rules and regulations.
- Promote teamwork and supervise casino floor activities ensuring employees deliver courteous and prompt service using Family-Style Service skills.
- Lead departmental initiatives including hiring training process development and installation of slot-related equipment and supplies.
- Review and recommend policy changes to the Vice President of Slot Operations to enhance departmental efficiency and business growth.
- Monitor staffing levels bank/floor assignments and scheduling including break coverage.
- Ensure supervisory presence is maintained and accessible to employees and guests at all times.
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching training and corrective action as needed.
- Implement and oversee internal security measures within the Slot department.
- Track slot performance metrics and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
- Recommend changes to optimize guest experience and operational efficiency.
- Develop long-range plans budgets and policies for the Slot department.
- Manage slot machine operations including hiring and termination of Slot department personnel.
- Plan and execute outreach activities to engage and retain slot players.
- Develop strategies to improve guest service and customer satisfaction scores.
- Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to discuss career goals and create development plans.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal state and local regulations as well as internal controls.
- Align staff scheduling with business volumes and operational needs.
- Provide clear direction regarding current and future departmental objectives.
- Oversee jackpot and fill processes to ensure accuracy and quality control.
- Execute projects and directives from the Vice President of Slot Operations.
- Conduct timely performance evaluations and implement development plans for Slot Attendants and other team members.
- Maintain open communication and ensure fair treatment of all employees.
- Communicate departmental updates and policy changes to ensure consistency across shifts.
- Coordinate with Shift Managers and other departments to optimize floor coverage and operational effectiveness.
- Adhere to attendance guidelines and all regulatory departmental and company policies.
- Serve as a role model consistently presenting oneself as a credit to Caesars and encouraging others to do the same.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree from four-year college or university; or three to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in slot operations or casino management.
- A minimum of 3 years as a Casino Services (Slots) Shift Manager managing all three shifts with working knowledge of slot machines is strongly preferred.
- Must have a strong track record of leadership and managerial success in slot operations preferably overseeing a large-scale slot floor with 1000 machines across multiple shifts.
- Strong gaming managerial administrative and accounting skills required.
- Work requires the ability to compile compute and analyze pertinent data needed for reports.
- Must have ability to identify and adopt new technological innovations within the organization.
- Work requires effective communication in English both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
- Must be able to obtain a required Louisiana Gaming License.
PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and carry up to 5 pounds.
- Must be able to bend reach kneel twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
- Must be able to read write speak and understand English.
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
