Staff Software Engineer, Frontend Domains

Squarespace Domains is looking for a Frontend Staff Software Engineer to lead org-wide initiatives. Squarespace Domains supports millions of Domains customers a community of dreamers entrepreneurs and users all aiming to establish their online presence - youll work on products used by millions with a direct and measurable impact on their success.

This is a hybrid role working from our New York City office 3 days per week. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Domains in NYC.

Youll Get To

• Serve as a technical leader driving the architecture design and implementation of critical frontend systems and client platforms
• Provide hands-on guidance to multiple engineering teams ensuring the delivery of high-quality scalable and maintainable frontend solutions
• Design advanced user interfaces and reusable components using modern frameworks and libraries
• Collaborate with product managers UX/UI designers and backend engineers to build new features
• Be a mentor for junior and mid-level engineers encouraging a culture of learning
• Guide architectural decisions and lead technical discussions to ensure the long-term health of our frontend platform
• Promote best practices in code quality accessibility performance and testing.
• Stay current with latest trends and technologies and identify opportunities for innovation

Who Were Looking For

• Have 8 years of professional experience in frontend web development
• Have experience designing and implementing complex and scalable web applications in collaboration with multiple teams and partners
• Have experience with HTML5 CSS3 and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React Vue or Angular
• Understand web performance security and accessibility principles
• Familiar with server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG)
• Familiar with cloud platforms (e.g. Google Cloud AWS Azure).

Cash Compensation Range: $185500 - $299000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills experience and location among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and where applicable for eligible roles may include on-target commissions or overtime pay) Squarespace employees are eligible to receive an incentive award as part of their total compensation.
