The Healthcare Post-Graduate Fellow plays a role in supporting strategic operational and financial initiatives. This position provides a unique opportunity for hands-on learning through project work department rotations and exposure to senior leadership. The Fellow will contribute to process improvement data analysis and compliance efforts while gaining a comprehensive understanding of healthcare management and developing strong leadership and communication skills.

Description
Role: A post-graduate fellow is a trainee pursuing a career in healthcare management. They typically will have graduated in late April of the given year and will start their 12 month fellowship in June.
Purpose: To gain hands-on management experience and apply academic principles in a practical setting. The resident is mentored by senior leaders to develop skills for future executive roles.
Supervision: Residents work under the direction of a mentor preceptor or executive sponsor who provides supervision guidance and project assignments.
Key duties and responsibilities
Project Management: Lead or assist in a variety of projects focusing on operational improvement strategy finance and quality control. This can include developing new tools analyzing data and preparing reports for senior management.
Rotational Exposure: Under the guidance of the executive sponsor rotate through various departments which may include finance operations human resources quality improvement and information systems. This provides a comprehensive understanding of leadership in general and healthcare management specifically.
Operations & Administration: Assist with day-to-day administrative operations such as developing staff schedules coordinating meetings and ensuring workflow efficiency.
Financial Management: Help monitor budgets prepare financial reports and analyze data to find opportunities to cut costs or improve financial performance.
Compliance & Regulation: Research implement and assess compliance with all relevant healthcare laws regulations and accreditation standards.
Communication & Leadership: Attend management and leadership meetings to observe decision-making and strategic planning. Residents are expected to develop strong communication interpersonal and leadership skills.
Analysis & Evaluation: Conduct research and analyze data to inform decision-making evaluate performance metrics and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
Education: A masters degree in business administration (MBA) or healthcare administration (MHA) or a related field.
Have graduated within the prior six months from a C.A.H.M.E (Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education) accredited MBA or MHA program. For this opportunity they will have graduated in late April of 2026 and will start the fellowship in June.
Competencies: CAHME accreditation emphasizes competencies such as knowledge of the healthcare system effective communication critical thinking leadership and professionalism.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with standard software and increasingly with specific databases or electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze metrics and interpret complex data to improve efficiency and meet organizational goals.
Personal Attributes: Strong organizational skills attention to detail leadership potential and the ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team. Successful candidate will also hold a current temple recommend.
