Job Description
You will join the team responsible for one of the largest and most critical networks on the planet. Apples network is a core part of the internets backbone carrying a significant percentage of global traffic and peering directly with major service providers and content networks. YOUR EXPERIENCE AS AN APPLE INTERNWe believe an internship should be about making a real contribution. - Proficiency in a high-level programming language such as Python or Go with a passion for writing clean elegant code.
- A solid foundation in computer science fundamentals including data structures algorithms and software design principles.
- Foundational knowledge of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP DNS HTTP) and a desire to learn more.
- Experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
- An analytical mindset and a data-driven approach to solving complex problems.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors Masters or PhD in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Expected graduation between June 2026 and June 2027.
- Initiative and a proven ability to drive projects whether in an academic personal or professional setting.
- Curiosity demonstrated through personal projects hackathons or self-directed learning.
- Experience with any form of distributed systems cloud computing or infrastructure automation.
- Previous internship experience in software engineering or a related field is a plus.
- Comfort with ambiguity and excitement about learning technologies not typically covered in university courses.
- Strong analytical thinking and a data-driven mindset.
- Exceptional collaboration skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas simply.
- Understanding or interests in core network protocols (BGP OSPF MPLS) Internet peering optical networking technologies (WDM) network monitoring technologies (snmp gNMI)
