We have an exciting opportunity for an FPGA Engineering Intern to join the Microelectronics Team within the Electrical Engineering organization. Electrical Engineering drives business success by providing a variety of critical engineering tasks across Raytheon product lines and functions.

What You Will Do

  • Develop FPGA designs for all major vendors and device families including: Xilinx (AMD) Altera (Intel) and Microchip
  • Implement designs using VHDL for the following applications: gigabit serial interfaces Radio Frequency (RF) interfaces DSP algorithms control logic data links and/or embedded processing.
  • Work with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements collaboratively model algorithms partition and perform code development simulation and implementation
  • Verify designs against requirements using both directed test and constrained random test methodologies
  • Provide design support from requirements definition through integration and test including design documentation and configuration management

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must be pursuinga Bachelors or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or relatedScience Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major
  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelors (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum entering their Senior standing level by the start of Summer 2026.
  • Experience with VHDL or Verilog programming
  • Experience with FPGAs microprocessors or other programmable logic devices

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Xilinx (AMD) Altera (Intel) or Microchip FPGAs
  • Experience with Xilinx (AMD) Altera (Intel) or Microchip design tools and development environments
