We have an exciting opportunity for an FPGA Engineering Intern to join the Microelectronics Team within the Electrical Engineering organization. Electrical Engineering drives business success by providing a variety of critical engineering tasks across Raytheon product lines and functions.

What You Will Do

• Develop FPGA designs for all major vendors and device families including: Xilinx (AMD) Altera (Intel) and Microchip
• Implement designs using VHDL for the following applications: gigabit serial interfaces Radio Frequency (RF) interfaces DSP algorithms control logic data links and/or embedded processing.
• Work with circuit card designers and systems engineers to develop requirements collaboratively model algorithms partition and perform code development simulation and implementation
• Verify designs against requirements using both directed test and constrained random test methodologies
• Provide design support from requirements definition through integration and test including design documentation and configuration management

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuinga Bachelors or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or relatedScience Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major
• This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelors (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum entering their Senior standing level by the start of Summer 2026.
• Experience with VHDL or Verilog programming
• Experience with FPGAs microprocessors or other programmable logic devices

Qualifications We Prefer

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with Xilinx (AMD) Altera (Intel) or Microchip FPGAs
• Experience with Xilinx (AMD) Altera (Intel) or Microchip design tools and development environments

• This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS) an agency of the Department of Defense handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. More information about Security Clearances can be found on the US Department of State government website here: Texas: salary range for this role is 37000 USD - 82000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
