At GBH we believe in the advantages of coming together to build community mentor and learn from colleagues and connect more deeply with our mission. As a result the majority of our staff are hybrid and work both from home and onsite. Our current hybrid approach requires staff to work onsite a minimum of two days each week every Tuesday and one other day to be determined by their business unit. Hybrid staff are also welcome to come in additional days each week or may be asked to come in on other days by their manager.
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
NEPM is a multi-media organization producing and broadcasting radio TV and digital content for western Massachusetts from our studios in Springfield MA. It provides audiences with a broad array of local and national programs across all media including PBS and NPR. NEPM is an independently operated organization affiliated with GBH. NEPMs Education Department is responsible for providing and developing learning opportunities to improve outcomes for children families educators and students.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Local Promotions Coordinator for TV supports the marketing and outreach efforts of our public media organization by creating compelling promotional content and effective underwriting spots for business supporters of NEPM. This role is ideal for a creative communicator with a passion for storytelling and community connection.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Produce and edit local testimonials from listeners donors and community partners working directly with NEPMs development and marketing teams and freelance videographers
Produce and edit television spots promoting local events initiatives and programming in collaboration with NEPMs marketing and content teams
Produce and edit local television underwriting spots for corporate clients working directly with NEPMs corporate sponsorship team
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all promotional materials reflect organizational values and priorities and meet brand standards
Source local and national b-roll from provided resources including NEPMs archive PBS and GBH
Source brand appropriate music files from Universal Production
Upload all local promotion spots to server on a weekly basis
Skill Set
Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone clarity and audience.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with public media values and audience engagement strategies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with a creative mindset.
Proficiency in editing software such as Avid Photoshop and After Effects and basic software including Google Suite Microsoft etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required and a minimum 12 years of experience in marketing communications media production or a related field.
Experience in nonprofit or public media environments is a plus.
JOB SPECIFICS
This is a part time temporary position estimated between 5-10 hours of work per week.
