Automotive Service Technician: Responsibilities
- Perform work as specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
- Test-drive vehicles and inspect components using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose maintain and repair automotive systems including engines transmissions electrical systems steering suspension brakes air conditioning and more
- Communicate with Service Advisors to keep customers informed about additional service needs and provide time estimates for further repairs
- Complete repairs under warranty according to manufacturer specifications
Automotive Service Technician: Qualifications
- Previous experience at an automotive dealership is preferred
- Strong understanding of the service drive and customer service
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Positive friendly attitude with a customer-first mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new technologies procedures and specifications
- Experience with electronic diagnostic equipment
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen and background check
