Background
We are inviting applications for a researchers position in our group. Our group carries out activities related to quantum physics and quantum technology. Our quantum enabled radar project consists of the installation of at least three radar nodes connected via fibres and free space link for distributed sensing. The fibres/free space link connecting the nodes require phase stabilisation at optical frequencies. We are aiming to achieve stability better than 1 part in 1018. We are seeking a highly motivated experimental researcher who will be responsible for continuing the development of the experimental platform as well as benchmarking new techniques and assisting in planning and implementing initial experiments on fibre stabilisation. The successful applicant will closely work with the Principal Investigator on both development of the experimental facility and running subsequent experiments including developing pipelines for data analysis. They will be an integral part of the team comprised of the PI and PGR students and will assist with the training and mentoring of the students. Experience with link stabilisation and/or with radars is of advantage to the position. The current position is for 15 months with the possibility of a further extension.
