Your new role
We are currently seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic team at Eunice Seddon Residential Aged Care Home on a Casual basis. This role is ideal for someone who believes in dignity for all values inclusion and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older peopleespecially those who have experienced disadvantage or housing insecurity. Your fortnightly roster will be determined by ad-hoc opportunities to offer relief to the team with flexibility to support residents when they need it most.
Your responsibilities and duties will include:
- Supporting residents with personal care including hygiene dressing grooming and other daily living activitiesalways with respect and empathy.
- Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition to ensure timely and appropriate care.
- Liaising with medical practitioners pharmacists and health services to advocate for residents health and wellbeing.
- Assisting in the implementation of cigarette and alcohol programs supporting residents autonomy while promoting safety.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- A strong commitment to social justice inclusion and person-centred care.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with initiative and compassion.
- Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support.
- Prior experience in housing & homelessness support aged care welfare disability support mental health or community/home care.
- A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to care.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly non-judgmental attitude.
- A genuine desire to enhance or maintain residents independence and lifestyle choices.
