Your Mission:
Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an Events Producer to join our Global Events team. This highly cross-functional and demanding role is responsible for producing large-scale high-profile events that engage Blizzards global audience including both in-person and virtual experiences. The Global Events Producer will partner with internal teams across marketing brand community communications esports and more to create unforgettable experiences for players alike.
You will be directly involved in planning executing and evaluating events for major product launches global conventions esports tournaments global broadcasts community-driven initiatives and more. You are responsible for delivering operational excellence while maintaining Blizzards high standards for creativity and quality. This role requires a combination of creative vision technical expertise operational acumen and exceptional project management skills.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning & Execution: Lead the development and execution of large-scale global in-person and virtual events including product launches conventions branded experiential experiences and more.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across Blizzard including Marketing Brand Community and Communications to ensure event strategies align with company goals and deliver maximum impact.
- Creative Direction: Collaborate on creative concepts and designs for events ensuring the production of engaging and innovative content that reflects Blizzards brand and resonates with a global audience.
- Logistical Coordination: Oversee all event logistics including venue selection vendor management budgeting travel technology setup and on-site operations ensuring seamless execution and a positive attendee experience.
- Operational Leadership: Drive operational efficiency by establishing best practices for event production vendor management budget tracking and scheduling. Ensure events are executed on-time within scope and on-budget.
- KPI & Performance Tracking: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all events analyzing feedback and engagement data to improve future experiences.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present event strategies progress and final reports to senior leadership ensuring alignment with Blizzards strategic objectives.
- Event Materials & Documentation: Oversee the creation and distribution of event materials such as briefs milestone schedules run-of-shows and post-event reports.
- Post-Event Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Lead post-event evaluations gather insights from attendees and stakeholders and apply learnings to enhance future events.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors and partners managing contracts negotiations and event logistics to ensure the successful delivery of all event components.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Communications or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in event production with a proven track record of delivering large-scale high-profile events (e.g. global product launches esports tournaments conventions etc.).
- 3 of those years producing both in-person and virtual events with expertise in live-streaming technologies and online engagement strategies.
- Event Production Expertise: Demonstrated ability to manage complex event logistics from concept through execution ensuring all aspects of an event are meticulously planned and delivered.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with multiple internal teams and external partners to execute high-impact events that align with broader marketing and organizational goals.
- Operational Excellence: Strong skills in budgeting vendor management contract negotiations scheduling and resource allocation.
- Creativity & Innovation: Ability to drive creative event strategies and contribute to brainstorming sessions that push the boundaries of traditional gaming events.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly present event strategies timelines and post-event analyses to senior leadership.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously ensuring all details are handled with care and precision.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-pressure environment managing competing priorities with a calm and focused approach.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with event management tools digital production platforms and livestreaming technologies (e.g. Wrike Microsoft Teams etc.).
- Gaming Passion: A deep understanding of the gaming industry Blizzards products and the gaming community with a passion for delivering exceptional player experiences.
Pluses:
- Advanced Degrees in a related field.
- Event Certifications such as Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) Meeting Planner (MP) or Event Safety Alliance (ESA).
- Experience with Esports Events: Knowledge of esports production and event management.
- Gaming Industry Experience: Previous experience working within the gaming or entertainment industry.
- Virtual Event Expertise: Familiarity with virtual event platforms and tools such as virtual worlds augmented reality and broadcast studios.
