Weyerhaeuser is seeking an Aviation Team Leader to oversee our Western Aviation operations which currently manages five Bell helicopters and is expanding to include two Blackhawks. This role focuses on safe efficient operations in alignment with our Western Timberlands strategy. Your initial assignment will be to build and establish this new division within the organization. The position reports to the Western Timberlands Silviculture Director with the office locations being flexible within the Western Timberlands footprint preferably located in one of the primary operational hubs (e.g. Vancouver Eugene Longview).
Key Functions
The Western Aviation Team Leader directs this business through a team of geographically dispersed skilled professionals with operations based out of Chehalis (WA) Eugene (OR) and the yet to be determined Blackhawk location. The main functions for this role include:
Setting and overseeing strategic goals for the operations relating to safety environmental financial helicopter utilization and resource allocation.
Managing P&L budgeting cost allocation and capital expenditure. Optimizing operational efficiency.
Supervise site leaders and support aviation staff at each location including pilots mechanics and grounds crew.
Provide clear expectations guidance and regular performance feedback to ensure cohesively skilled teams.
Drive innovation implement best practices and lead process improvements.
Maintain high standards of aviation and workplace safety. Ensure compliance with federal state and company regulations.
Guide the team to align with the companys safety philosophy and validate understanding and execution of the safety system.
Mentor train and evaluate team members. Foster a culture of continuous improvement skills development and knowledge sharing across sites.
Serve as the central communication link between locations management and other departments. Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesQualifications
At least eight years of management and financial accountability for production operations including management of professional employees.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team in a high-pressure environment.
Proven experience in coaching and providing performance feedback.
Solid track record of project leadership facilitation and delivering strong business results.
Strong strategic analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and relationship skills.
Ability to maintain confidence and credibility with customers business leaders and employees.
Willing to travel approximately 20-30% (Washington and Oregon).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within the aviation industry.
What We Offer:
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program and we are targeting a salary range of $157562-$236484 based on your level of skills qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program which offers a cash bonus targeting 25% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
