About the Role
Birch Island Vet is seeking a compassionate detail-oriented Veterinary Receptionist to join our front desk team. As the first point of contact for clients and their pets youll play a key role in providing a welcoming organized and supportive environment. Your work will help ensure smooth clinic operations and a positive experience for every visitor.
Responsibilities
Warmly greet clients and pets in person and over the phone
Schedule appointments and manage the daily calendar
Check patients in and out process payments and update records
Coordinate with the medical team to maintain efficient patient flow
Provide general information to clients regarding services medications and pet care
Maintain a clean professional and inviting front desk area
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years in a client-facing or receptionist role (veterinary experience preferred)
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Calm friendly demeanor with a genuine interest in animals and their caregivers
Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
Proficient with phones computers and practice management software
Reliable punctual and collaborative team player
Preferred (but not required)
Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting
Familiarity with scheduling software invoicing and medical record systems
