Pay: $120000.00 - $170000.00 per year

Note: Employees will work remotely when not in court or meeting with clients but must be based in the Washington D.C. area.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have an active D.C. Bar license and a minimum of 35 years of criminal defense experience.

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join their Washington D.C. team. This role is ideal for a litigator who thrives in high-stakes environments and wants the opportunity to handle serious felony and misdemeanor cases at the local state and federal levels.

• Represent clients in all phases of criminal proceedings from arraignment through trial
• Prepare and argue motions conduct negotiations and handle plea agreements
• Draft motions pleadings and appellate briefs with precision and clarity
• Advise clients on case strategy rights and potential outcomes
• Appear in court regularly for hearings motions and trials
• Collaborate with investigators fellow attorneys and support staff to ensure comprehensive case preparation
• Manage a demanding caseload while maintaining accuracy and professionalism

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active and in good standing with the D.C. Bar
• 3-5 years of proven criminal defense experience with significant trial exposure
• Exceptional oral advocacy negotiation and legal writing skills
• Strong organizational ability to manage a high caseload
• Dedication to ethical client-centered advocacy
