Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join their Washington D.C. team. This role is ideal for a litigator who thrives in high-stakes environments and wants the opportunity to handle serious felony and misdemeanor cases at the local state and federal levels.
- Represent clients in all phases of criminal proceedings from arraignment through trial
- Prepare and argue motions conduct negotiations and handle plea agreements
- Draft motions pleadings and appellate briefs with precision and clarity
- Advise clients on case strategy rights and potential outcomes
- Appear in court regularly for hearings motions and trials
- Collaborate with investigators fellow attorneys and support staff to ensure comprehensive case preparation
- Manage a demanding caseload while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active and in good standing with the D.C. Bar
- 3-5 years of proven criminal defense experience with significant trial exposure
- Exceptional oral advocacy negotiation and legal writing skills
- Strong organizational ability to manage a high caseload
- Dedication to ethical client-centered advocacy
