Position Overview

The Registration Intern will focus on processing new art acquisitions in support of the Assistant Registrar for Acquisitions. The Intern will gain hands-on experience in museum collection management and receive training about museum Registration and Collections Management practices and standards.

Key Duties:
-Accurately input and update acquisition information in the museums collections management database TMS and related spreadsheets.
-Assist with the intake and processing of new acquisitions including condition reports and documentation photography.
-Prepare object files and paperwork in compliance with museum standards and legal requirements.
-Support inventory and cataloging efforts related to new acquisitions.
-Perform general administrative and organizational tasks within the Registration Department.

Learning Outcomes:
-Gain practical experience in museum registration and collections management.
-Develop skills in documentation condition reporting and acquisitions processing.
-Understand museum standards for object handling and record keeping.
-Build professional relationships within the museum field.

Minimum Qualifications

-An interest in pursuing Registration or Collections Management as a career evidenced through coursework in art art history history or related area; extracurricular activities; and/or volunteer service.

-Previous experience with databases and specifically TMS (The Museum System) collections system desired.

-The candidate will ideally be entering their senior year of an undergraduate degree program enrolled in a graduate program or a recent graduate with a degree focus in art art history collections management or related area.

Additional Considerations

This is a limited duration hourly wage ($16-17/hour) position beginning late Oct./early Nov. 2025 and running through May/June 2026 with a weekly time commitment of 15 hours.

Scheduling primarily on weekdays is flexible to accommodate class schedule and/or other employment.

The selected candidate must pass a criminal history background check.
