Summary The Compliance Document Control Specialist coordinates document control activities to ensure that controlled Quality and Environmental Documentation is released for use in both manufacturing and the repair station. The role also includes issuing return-to-service tags as a Certificated Repairman and Airworthy Certificates for Manufacturing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Assist in maintaining Quality and Environmental Management System Documentation ensuring it is properly routed for review approval release and preservation in controlled conditions.
- Support changes to Quality and Environmental Management System Documentation to integrate new requirements into company procedures for effective implementation.

- In the role of Approved Manufacturing Inspector (AMI) inspect and issue Airworthiness Certificates for PMA-approved articles manufactured by Astronics CSC in accordance with FAA Order 8130.21.
- Adhere to 14 CFR Part 21.2 regulations against falsification of applications reports or records.
- Keep records of issued Airworthiness Certificates.
- When completing Certificate Repairman Activities inspect repaired units to approved design data and issue an FAA form 8130-3 return to service as defined in the FAA AC 8130.21 (latest revision) appropriate to the job for which the repairman was employed and certificated but only in connection with duties for the certificate holder by whom the repairman was employed and recommended.
- Report nonconforming conditions to the Repair Station Accountable Manager as defined in the Repair Station procedures and policies and FAA requirements.
- Perform additional document support activities related to the duties listed above.

- Capability to multitask effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of customer AS9100 ISO 14001 FAA Part 21 and FAA Part 145 requirements.
- Employment with Astronics CSC as an Approved Manufacturing Inspector.
- AMIs must meet one of the following:
- Twelve months of experience managing programs leading to the issuance of original airworthiness certificates.
- Twelve months of experience with quality control methods and techniques including documented knowledge of:
- Using FAA-approved type design data.
- First article in-process and final assembly inspections.
- Quality assurance of special processes (heat treating brazing welding carbonizing plating etc.).
- Conducting destructive and non-destructive inspections.
- Managing manufacturing processes.
- Ensuring airworthiness.
- Developing and implementing quality control systems and procedures.
- Executing testing procedures (per reference 8000.95 section 8-6).
- Knowledge and training in FAA PMA (FAA Orders 8000.95 8110.4 8130.2 and 8130.21)
- Ability to locate relevant documents on the FAA website and regulations on .
- Completion of the FAA Issuance of 8130-3 for Domestic and Export Approvals of Engines Propellers & Articles Only Training Course.
- Familiarity with relevant FAA regulations policies and guidance documents.
- Technical skills and experience suitable for inspecting products manufactured by Astronics CSC.
- Completion of mandatory training including FAA and Quality Management system procedure training.
- Compliance with 14 CFR Part 21 Subpart L for export airworthiness approvals.
Certificated Repairman Activity Requirements (per 14 CFR Part 65.101) - Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be specially qualified to perform maintenance on aircraft or components thereof appropriate to the job for which he is employed.
- Be employed for a specific job requiring those special qualifications by a certificated repair station or by a certificated commercial operator or certificated air carrier that is required by its operating certificate or approved operations specifications to provide a continuous airworthiness maintenance program according to its maintenance manuals.
- Be recommended for certification by his employer to the satisfaction of the Administrator as able to satisfactorily maintain aircraft or components appropriate to the job for which he is employed.
- At least 18 months of practical experience in the procedures practices inspection methods materials tools machine tools and equipment generally used in the maintenance duties of the specific job for which the person is to be employed and certificated; or completed formal training that is acceptable to the Administrator and is specifically designed to qualify the applicant for the job on which the applicant is to be employed.
Preferred: - Lead Auditor Training in the Company Directed Quality and Environmental Management Systems (AS9100 (includes ISO 9001) ISO 13485 and ISO 14001.
