Job Description

Position Summary:Engineers in Training complete a rotational assignment program through various positions in Operations Engineering and other areas as requested. Objective is to gain experience & graduate to full time process engineer once rotation is complete.

Reports To: Various Managers as assigned

Personnel: Not applicable

Accountabilities: Accountable for understanding and following all SOPs and WIs related to job duties while supporting 6S and Lean Manufacturing concepts. Ensure all documentation digital data and related internal communications are handled in an appropriate and timely manner. Ensure communications with all personnel occurs on a timely basis.

Authorities:As defined by the position assignments in the rotation.

Duties:

  • Perform duties per jobs assigned in the rotational program
  • Complete all assignments projects and training requirements as assigned
  • Complete overview presentations as scheduled of rotational assignment highlights.

Job Qualification Requirements:

Educational Experience BS degree in technically related field.

Experience Strong blueprint reading and computer skills. Strong organizational abilities and good communication skills both written and verbal. Must be detail oriented have problem solving ability. Must be able to work unsupervised and have initiative to follow through the steps required working with all levels of the organization.

Physical Demands- The employee is required to:

  • stand walk push pull reach overhead and bend to the floor
  • exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or
  • exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.

Certification Required None

Visual Acuity Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery.

Hearing Ability Ability to communicate to customers and employees. Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

Working Conditions The employee is subject to:

  • shop floor environment
  • high noise levels from operating machines
  • physical hazards from moving equipment and production components
  • breathing fumes dust and mist
  • skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids
  • welding flashes.

The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested subject to all applicable state and federal laws.

Attendance is an essential job function.

Employees will operate in compliance of all recognized standards that Major Tool adheres to (such as AS9100 ISO 9000) including all supporting policies and procedures.
