The successful candidate will:
1. Teach courses in music therapy at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
2. Assist with practicum/internship/clinical training aspects of the program.
3. Advise graduate and undergraduate music therapy students.
4. Direct masters theses and professional papers in music therapy and serve on other graduate student committees.
5. Actively participate in division recruiting.
6. Develop a strong record of scholarship that enhances program standing and visibility of the department and the music therapy program.
7. Maintain active involvement in professional organizations related to music therapy on the state and national levels; and
8. Teach other courses aligned with secondary area(s) of expertise.
1. Hold an earned doctorate in Music Music Education with an emphasis in Music Therapy Music Therapy or other closely related field
2. Hold Board Certification (MT-BC) in Music Therapy; and
3. Have five years of clinical experience according to AMTA requirements
1. Experience teaching in different modalities (i.e. face-to-face hybrid online synchronous asynchronous etc.)
2. Experience with recruitment and retention of varied student populations.
