Valid Occupational Health & Safety Technician/supervisor License accredited by JO MOL
2 years of experience in occupational health & safety or a related role.
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
OHS Technician or Supervisor License
Support to develop and administer health safety and environment plans and processes to mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments and provide employees with a safe and healthy working environment in line with the business strategy and requirements corporate guidelines and policies
Key Responsibilities:
Support administration of health safety and environment plans and processes to provide employees a safe and healthy work environment
Execute health and safety frameworks and policies across the operations facilities and employees to comply to health and safety standards laws and relevant regulations
Undertake administration of policies and practices to identify/ mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace
Regularly conduct checks to detect potential workplace hazards unsafe equipment work practices and working conditions
Conduct inspections of grounds facilities and premises identify areas of non-adherence and risks of injuries/ job-related threats as per the laid down policies and standards
Prepare initial analysis reports on potential causes and suggested measures based on investigations of job-related injuries and fatalities
Document records of workplace injuries illness and absences to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies
Collate study and report information and suggested prevention measures related to causes of accidents
Deliver training and instructions to employees and teams on safety protocols and safety-conscious work performance
Identify and resolve recurring issues and suggest modifications related to health safety and environment work methods focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency
May provide functional guidance advice or training to less experienced positions
Develop implement and monitor health & safety policies procedures and programs in compliance with local regulations and company standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of local occupational health & safety laws and international best practices.
Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
Derive solutions with very limited guidelines through decision making based on theoretical/practical experience
Works independently with limited supervision
Ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture.
Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex
People Management Responsibility: Individual contributor without direct responsibility for leading others
Stakeholders: Build relationships and understand customer and key stakeholders interests and concerns
