A Business Executive is the person the team goes to when they need stuff sorting. Their role is to execute all requests made of them with enthusiasm speed and demonstrate great attention to detail total trustworthiness and initiative. This is a process of learning by doing but also observing and assimilating the very best practice of their Business Manager and importantly asking lots of questions to learn.
Responsibilities
Strategy
Learns about the development ofgreat strategy.
Skills and Knowledge
- Is aware of clients business objectives and priorities and is an expert in the marketplace & competitive set. Keeps teams proactively and regularly informed in this regard.
- Contributes to briefing process through research cultural and competitive context. Has a role when briefing teams for comms within existing campaign writing & owning task briefs.
- Seeks to understand briefs and ask questions.
- Is exposed to and developing an understanding of research methodologies/data and the role they play in the creative process. Understands the roles of different agencies media partners and third parties in developing campaigns.
Creative
Genuinely enthusiastic curious and interested inall things creativeactively keeping up to date on whats best in class across disciplines.
Skills and Knowledge
- Proactively pulls together best in class references to support a creative brief.
- Can articulate creative understanding and share their proficiently link the work back to the objectives of the brief and ensure its on brand.
- Develops an understanding of how ideas can travel across media.
- Learns industry and account specific regulations as well as championing brand guidelines and shares relevant info around creative work.
- Supports BM in managing regulatory process and relationships.
- Actively listens and seeks to understand creative feedback helping BM to manage feedback and approval process.
Operations
Support the smooth implementation of all campaigns and account operations with your direct reports producersand traffic managers to ensure all deadlines and budgets are met.
Skills and Knowledge
- Coordinate and distribute all administrative documentation (e.g. status report promotion results trade press articles competitor activity etc.) within your team the broader agency and where appropriate the client in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates interest in and enthusiasm for all parts of the process providing energy for the team.
- Remains calm and positive in the face of change or when under pressure. Displays a can do attitude.
- Manages their own time and expectations of others throughout all levels of the team displaying an ability to support on multiple projects.
- Ensure agency processes are maintained to deliver culturally relevant work in a smooth and efficient manner.
Production
Supports executionaldelivery on timeevery time error-free.
Skills and Knowledge
- Shows enthusiasm to develop a breadth of experience across media & production techniques.
- Supports BM in working with agency producers production partners & third parties to deliver projects across all media.
- Facilitates good communication across departments involved in a project keeping contact reports and following up on requests in a timely manner.
- Helps make it happen is proactive and can operate at speed to deliver high quality outputs.
- Respects the craft and detail on every project to ensure highest standards of delivery across everything from timing plans to social posts to TVCs.
Relationships
Builds solid and trustworthy relationships with their team and are enthusiastic and upbeat with a can-do attitude.
Skills and Knowledge
- Understands the agency environment and always demonstrates professional behavior.
- Builds trusting relationships with day-to-day clients and other departments by investing time with people. Demonstrates passion for a high standard of client service.
- Demonstrates good communication skills is an active listener (what is the client saying and not saying) is always clear and concise.
- Active citizen in the department and wider agency through participation & proactivity.
Commercial
Understand the importance of financial rigor and begin to learn how to monitor spending accurate budgeting and the practicalities of the billing system as a support to their Business Manager.
Skills and Knowledge
- Understands and plays a role in maintaining JCRs. Has a good relationship with the finance dept.
- Develops comprehensive estimates that reflect the agreed scope and tracks the progress of a job to ensure profitability.
- Budget tracking management including billing & payments.
- Effective at communicating and explaining costs to clients.
- Reviews job timesheets weekly f lagging overspends to their Business Manager.
