Job Summary
Were seeking an innovative US International Tax strategist to help revolutionize global internet access through Project Kuiper. Your expertise will directly support an ambitious initiative bringing high-speed broadband internet to communities worldwide transforming digital connectivity on a global scale.
In order to be successful the candidate must think strategically while also engaging in day-to-day tactical details in order to identify and manage tax technical and execution risks.
This position is part of a team that works closely with business partners and members of the corporate tax department to structure business initiatives and transactions. This function is critical to ensuring that the business teams are well advised on the tax impact of their activities and that the relevant tax technical analysis of such activities are properly supported as part of our reporting compliance and on-going tax controversy efforts. The ideal candidate will have in-depth tax technical knowledge with experience evaluating and advising on international business initiatives and proposals and must understand financial systems and work with technical (operational) stakeholders.
The candidate will also work closely with members across the global tax department as well as external stakeholder teams (e.g. Accounting Legal Finance) and communicate business plans obtain tax subject matter input and ensure coordination and execution of cross-functional tax solutions in a sustainable manner.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive international tax strategies to support strategic business initiatives
- Evaluate and mitigate tax risks associated with global business transactions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust tax documentation and compliance
- Communicate complex tax concepts to non-technical stakeholders with clarity and precision
- 10 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience in taxation in a corporate environment public accounting firm or major law firm
- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partner well with people at all levels within an organization including coaching of junior staff
- J.D. or CPA
- Experience with accounting concepts and tax regulations laws and standards
- Experience relating complex tax risks to non-tax business stakeholders
- Experience working effectively on milestone-driven projects

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
