TheZimmerman School of Advertising & Mass Communicationsat the University of South Florida invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Instruction a nine-month full-time continuing non-tenure earning position with a start date of August 7 2026. Salary is negotiable.

The Zimmerman Schools location in Tampa Florida - the 11th largest media market in the United States - offers tremendous opportunities for internships and career advancement in a diverse and thriving community near a booming business and technology corridor. Zimmerman School students participate annually in more than 100 internships in the Tampa Bay area and beyond. On campus student clubs and associations including the Walter E. Griscti Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America the Ad Club and student chapters of the Florida Public Relations Association and the Radio Television Digital News Association provide opportunities to network with professionals in business non-profit and government organizations.



Responsibilities

We seek an innovative professional who would teach a variety of video production courses such as electronic field production Adobe for video and audio production and direction documentary film and video for advertising and promotions. Opportunities could include teaching in virtual production.

We seek someone with a forward-looking perspective who is committed to staying up to speed on the consistently evolving nature of the video production industry.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree from an accredited institution in video production film broadcast news mass communications or related field and professional experience and expertise in video production and editing are required. Applicants must submit a video reel.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants with experience with mirrorless/DSLR/Cinema cameras proficiency with video editing software and at least two years experience teaching university undergraduates.
