Carers NSW is the peak organisation for carers in NSW. We are a not-for-profit organisation connecting and empowering carers across NSW and improving their quality of life through activities programs training and policy advice. We advocate for carers of all ages and circumstances.
As the Carer Coach you will be responsible for organising and facilitating one-to-one time limited coaching that is carer led and directed and in accordance with the Carer Gateway Service provider (CGSP) Coaching Service guidelines.
Coaching sessions are conducted either face-to-face online or via telephone.
This part time position offers 3 days per week and will be located out of either Newcastle or Central Coast Office with requirement to work at the alternative office location as required.
Our ideal candidate should possess the following skills and attributes:
Tertiary qualification in social work psychology health or other relevant discipline and/or ability to show demonstrated work experience relevant to the role
Experience empowering carers to understand their needs/goals and to make decisions and actions independently
Awareness and empathy to work with carers
Experience working in a one-to-one capacity with carers with the ability to provide active listening without judgement
High level of emotional maturity and resilience
Understand of trauma-informed practices
Ability to set boundaries and to seek support when needed
Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain a positive and optimistic outlook towards carers
Excellent communication and organisational skills coupled with highly developed computer literacy skills
Strong understanding of Mandatory reporting and privacy requirements
Current NSW drivers licence and the capacity to travel and work across NSW 4 service area (Central Coast Newcastle and Hunter region.
This position until 30 June 2026 with potential contract extension beyond this date.

Salary and Benefits
