Job Description
Deben Health Group Primary Care Network (PCN) are looking for a GP assistant and community phlebotomist to join their team on a full or part-time basis. Based at our PCN office in Riduna Park Melton this is a community based role involving domiciliary working as a lone practitioner so you must hold a valid driving license and have access to a car to be considered.
This role plays a vital role in supporting clinicians in the delivery of high quality primary care across the PCN and will offerpatients care in their own homes to complete blood tests and other observations.
- Perform venepuncture (phlebotomy) to collect blood samples.
- Record and document vital signs including blood pressure pulse weight and BMI.
- Access clinical ICE system for electronic pathology requesting results and printing sample labels.
- Carry out urinalysis diabetic foot checks and other diagnostic tests once trained and assessed competent.
- Maintain accurate contemporaneous patient records using SystmOne.
- Apply infection prevention and control measures consistently in all clinical activities.
- Escalate concerns or changes in patient condition promptly to the practice clinician.
- Support health promotions by signposting patients to appropriate PCN or community service.
About the Candidate
- Educated to GCSE level pass or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Qualification in venepuncture.
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to work alone be pro-active and motivated.
- Excellent communication skills.
- SystemOne experience preferred.
- Confident with Outlook Word and Excel.
- Must hold a valid driving license and have access to own car.
