Summary
The Senior Integration Engineer will be responsible for designing implementing and supporting the integration change and merge of PACS RIS and associated imaging and clinical applications during a large-scale migration and consolidation program. This role requires deep technical expertise in healthcare integration platforms interface management and interoperability standards to ensure seamless connectivity and reliable workflows across multi-site healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design development and support of system interfaces for Change and Merge PACS RIS and EMR platforms during the migration change and merge processes.
- Collaborate with project managers solution architects and clinical teams to ensure seamless integration across all systems during consolidation initiatives.
- Implement and maintain HL7 DICOM FHIR and API-based integrations to support imaging workflows and downstream clinical applications.
- Support the change and merge of PACS archives ensuring accurate data mapping integrity and accessibility post-migration.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex integration issues ensuring minimal disruption to clinical and imaging operations.
- Document integration workflows system dependencies and technical specifications for the merged environments.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare security and privacy standards (HIPAA HITRUST SOC2) throughout the integration lifecycle.
- Support data migration activities including extraction transformation validation and reconciliation of clinical data.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization for integration components to meet SLA and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders for integration testing go-live readiness and post-migration stabilization support.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building reusable integration frameworks templates and best practices.
Experience & Skills
- 8 years of experience as an Integration Engineer or in a similar technical role with at least 5 years in healthcare IT.
- Strong expertise in PACS and RIS change merge and migration projects across multi-site healthcare systems.
- Hands-on experience with integration engines such as Mirth Connect Rhapsody Cloverleaf Ensemble or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of HL7 DICOM FHIR RESTful APIs and related interoperability standards.
- Experience in data migration validation and reconciliation for imaging and clinical workflows.
- Solid understanding of network storage and security infrastructure in clinical environments.
- Proven track record supporting large-scale integration programs with multiple stakeholders and complex dependencies.
- Excellent analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities for effective cross-functional engagement.
- Relevant certifications in integration platforms or healthcare interoperability standards are preferred.
