Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic high performing sales management/business development professional with minimum 7 years financial services experience who can bring their strong knowledge of insurance and wealth products to this role and oversee the coaching of experience advisors.
This role will report to the Regional Vice-President with a dotted reporting relationship to the District Director.
What will you do
- Support experienced advisors to deliver on holistic business results (i.e. grow insurance and wealth sales clients assets etc.) by introducing resources including Practice Management and Consulting Services and collaborate on market identification sales planning and joint field work.
- Coach and support experienced Advisors to deliver effectively on business results;support the Advisors in creating proposals business solutions and implementation plans to achieve business results.
- Support the recruitment of experienced advisors consistent with Region and Financial Centre business plans and requirements;actively oversee the successful execution of an onboarding plan in collaboration with Practice Management Centre of Excellence.
- Monitor and manage performance of experienced advisors and ensure alignment to business targets.
- Deliver business results consistent with district and regional targets (sales growth productivity client engagement).
- Conduct block and client segmentation analysis to support advisor in improving business performance and client engagement.
- Oversee required measures to support the District Director in ensuring compliant operations at the Financial Centre.
- Provide oversight and support for corrective action of market conduct audit.
- Work closely with the advisor in the assigned Financial Centre transitioning from developing advisor to other advisor segments with emphasis on practice management coaching including business planning effective joint field work best practices digital tool adoption and other methods to grow their practice.
What do you need to succeed
- Business acumen strong product knowledge of insurance and wealth products; good understanding of the characteristics of the local and broader market.
- Strong sales management and business development skills.
- Strong mentoring coaching performance management and influencing skills.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and relationship building skills.
- Previous experience leading people through large-scale change within amatrix environment.
- Strong working knowledge of the regulatory environment in which Sun Life Financial Distribution operates.
What will be nice to have:
- University Degree with minimum 7 years of related experience within the financial services industry.
- Must hold a valid Life Insurance Agents license in the province in which your Financial Centre is located.
- Must have completed the Branch Managers Course Examination and satisfy the experience required to become registered as a mutual fund branch manager with the appropriate provincial securities commission.
- Must be in good standing with applicable regulators.
- A professional financial services designation would be an asset.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other addition to Base Pay eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
