Role SummaryJoin Associated Banks Trust Tax team to support the accurate and timely preparation of fiduciary and estate tax this role youll collaborate with internal partners and external tax preparers to ensure compliance with federal and state tax requirements. This position offers the opportunity to deepen your tax expertise contribute to process improvements and support clients with precision and care.
Key Accountabilities
Prepare and coordinate the filing of federal and state fiduciary income tax returns ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Act as a liaison between Relationship Managers Administrative staff and external tax preparers to gather and manage necessary tax information.
Review transaction reports and tax codes for accuracy addressing discrepancies and ensuring proper documentation.
Respond to inquiries from federal and state tax authorities researching and drafting correspondence to resolve issues.
Monitor tax filings payments and refund collections confirming successful submission and compliance with deadlines.
Track and resolve outstanding tax matters such as missing cost basis data beneficiary information or K-1s.
Stay informed on changes in fiduciary and estate tax regulations updating department procedures and best practices as needed.
Support tax reporting for foreign beneficiaries and coordinate electronic payments for tax obligations and estimated payments.
Education & Experience
Required
Bachelors degree in Accounting Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience.
2 years of experience in tax or accounting.
Preferred
4 years of experience in tax or accounting ideally within a trust or fiduciary environment.
