VicRoads is progressing August 2022 we started on a new chapter when the Victorian State Government partnered with Aware Super Australian Retirement Trust and Macquarie Asset Management to operate registration and licensing services on its behalf.

We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access infrastructure and safety.

Annual Salary Range:$79866 - $83061 plus super

Employment Type: Full-time/ permanent

About the role:

Numbering over 800 staff our Registration and Licensing (R&L) division significantly contributes to ensuring Victorians are safe on our roads by providing professional customer services policy advice and specialist services to our customers.

We have a Team Leader vacancy (based at Dandenong Customer Service Centre) part of our South EastVictoria Region. Reporting to the Centre Manager you will not only lead the team in providing high quality customer service but also support and monitor staff development though ongoing coaching.

About the job:

  • Exercise independent judgement to effectively plan and organise workload to achieve agreed outcomes.

  • Identifies development needs for self and the team and make appropriate recommendations for development that meets the individual and business needs.

  • Use negotiation and influencing skills to encourage innovation and better work practices for improved business performance.

  • Provides supervision and training to staff on performance goals and criteria and how they can be achieved.

  • Uses conceptual and analytical skills to develop solutions but seeks advice when needs to to ensure actions are appropriate to situation.

  • Exercise professional judgement to identify possible breaches of legal requirements policies and procedures and the Code of Conduct and take appropriate action.

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • Supervise and motivate the team to deliver high quality customer service.

  • Responding to customer queries in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Provide ongoing training and development and support staff.

  • Assist in Identifying and implementation of innovative solutions towards business improvement.

  • Develop solutions for moderately complex transactions customer enquiries and complaints.

Skills & Experience:

  • Ability to coordinate workload plans that align with agreed business outcomes.

  • Experience in assessing and monitoring staff performance towards improved performance.

  • Ability to drive and influence innovation towards improved business outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team to achieve customer service targets.

  • Capability to adapt to achieve business outcomes in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

  • Ability to travel and work from neighbouring sites if required.

  • A current and valid drivers license is required.
