Job Description

Position Title: Instructional Designer and Developer
Job Description: Project Goal: To design and develop a comprehensive digital teaming toolkit for an anticipated launch in Q3/Q4.

Contract Length: TBD

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define the scope content and user experience (UX) requirements for the digital teaming toolkit.

Design and architect the overall structure and flow ensuring a seamless and engaging user journey.

Develop interactive and modular content including the use of authoring tools like Articulate Storyline.

Integrate and package content (e.g. HTML SCORM files) for deployment within an existing Learning Management System (LMS) or internal portal.

Integrate existing static content visuals and templates into a cohesive user-friendly digital format.

Conduct testing and iteration based on feedback to ensure a smooth user experience prior to launch.

Provide final documentation and handover instructions for maintaining the toolkit post-launch.

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in designing and developing digital resource centers toolkits or interactive knowledge bases.

Expert proficiency with Articulate Storyline or similar rapid e-learning authoring tools (e.g. Rise 360 Captivate).

Demonstrated ability to prepare test and deploy content using SCORM or xAPI standards for LMS integration.

Strong proficiency in front-end development technologies (e.g. HTML CSS) OR expert proficiency with specific content management/collaboration platforms (specify platform if known e.g. advanced SharePoint development).

Excellent graphic design and UX/UI skills.

Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively to meet a Q3/Q4 deadline.

Strong communication skills and experience translating complex content into clear intuitive digital tools.

Top Skills: Articulate Storyline Mastery & E-Learning Development:

This is the core technical skill. The contractor must be an expert in using Storyline (or similar advanced authoring tools like Captivate/Rise) to create dynamic highly interactive scenario-based modules not just linear presentations.

SCORM/LMS Integration and Troubleshooting:

Crucial for the successful launch (Q3/Q4). They need to understand SCORM and xAPI standards know how to publish courses correctly and critically be able to troubleshoot tracking and communication issues between the published content and the Learning Management System (LMS).

Instructional Design (ID) & User Experience (UX):

This ensures the toolkit is effective not just pretty. They must apply ID principles (like ADDIE or SAM) to structure the content logically define learning objectives and use UX best practices to make the digital resource intuitive and easy to navigate for the end-user (teaming).

Project Management & Time Management (Contractor Mindset):

As a contractor with a fixed launch target (Q3/Q4) they must be highly organized. This includes managing the project timeline setting milestones self-prioritizing tasks and ensuring all deliverables are met on time and within scope without heavy day-to-day oversight.

Stakeholder Communication & Consultation:

They need to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). This involves asking the right questions translating complex teaming concepts into digital interactions managing feedback/revisions and clearly communicating technical limitations or scope creep.
Project Description: Develop an Interactive Website: Create an internally hosted website for ATBs Teaming Toolkit.
Integrate Gamification: Incorporate interactive and gamified elements to guide team members help them locate resources and increase engagement.
Resource Compendium: House the existing teaming tools and resources within the website organized into categories (Getting Started Configuration Alignment Execution Renewal).
Interactive Experiences: Design and implement interactive activities for each section of the toolkit including questionnaires challenges and mini-games with progress tracking and passcode rewards.
Adapt Existing Content: Adapt current toolkit resources (referenced by slide numbers in a companion deck) for the interactive website.
Flexible Access: Provide options for learners to either engage with the interactive experience or directly access the resource library.
Collaboration: Be open to collaboration on design approach and welcome creative input from The Learning Network.
Consider Technical Constraints: Address potential save state issues for longer resources if using a web-based hosting solution.
Vault Content (TBD): Note that the final reward for completing the interactive experience (the vault contents) is yet to be determined.
